The Declaration Page

“Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 AMP

Declaring God’s Word is a powerful tool to use in prayer, deliverance, and spiritual warfare. When I thought about declarations, it reminded me of the declarations page of an insurance policy. So, I had to take a closer look.

A declaration page usually includes a summary of coverage along with name and address of a policy holder, how to contact the insurance company for questions or to file a claim, how much coverage you have and how long it is valid.  It includes any endorsements, additions, changes and discounts.  It is recommended to keep a copy handy because it is a valuable resource if the need arises to file a claim. It also needs to be reviewed periodically.

This made me step back and think: what would a declaration page for salvation look like?  Here is what I imagine:

Name/address: (insert your name/address here)

Insurance Company: Jesus Christ, Inc., 1 Kingdom Hill, Heavenly Way, Heaven 00001

Policy: Salvation

Amount: Death of the perfect and divine Son of God in the form of man

Valid through: Eternity

Endorsements and additions: Policy coverage is extended to all who accept the conditions of this policy without limitation.

Discounts: Free to all who accept.  Debt paid in full.

Then I thought, what good is a policy if you never exercise a claim?  When we declare the Word of God in prayer, we are placing a claim against the policy that has already been paid for and provides us coverage every day of our lives.  But we have to place the claim.  We have to place the claim before God and exercise His coverage.  Otherwise it is like your basement flooding without ever picking the phone up to report that repairs are needed.

If I were to pick out scriptures to reflect my own declaration page of salvation what would they be?  That is food for thought. I have to remember to keep it handy and review it periodically.  It is a valuable resource in a time of need!

Father, thank you for your constant coverage and the price you paid for it. I pray I declare Your truths in the Name of Jesus!
