God’s Leadership Development

“Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.” Philemon 1:7 NIV

What would it look like if we developed others as Christ has developed us? What examples we have in the Bible for personal development!

It really makes me think—are all my interactions with others simply a reflection of my own heart? If that is true, what does that look like? How healthy is it? The more we love God and ourselves in Christ, the more we are able to love others as God loves us and be a reflection of Him. The more we know God intimately, the more we can pull upon His wisdom and deal with others in those hard places. It is because we have been in those hard places with God that we know what that intimate space can look like—even in the midst of pain, correction, grief and injustice. We have experienced releasing everything to Him instead of carrying it around.

How can we help others release their own challenges and obstacles, if we are still hanging onto our own? God says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Struggle is replaced with obedience. Pride is replaced with a humble heart. Self-promotion is replaced with patience and long-suffering.

Father, keep my eyes on You. I pray that Your wisdom and understanding are the precious principles applied to my dealings with others in every way—family, friends, colleagues, brothers/sisters and others that I touch in ways I do not know. May it be Your hand and Your words they remember in their hearts—not mine.
