Let The Light Shine

“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 NIV

Creation.  Who knew that when God said, “Let there be light” that He was foreshadowing the sacrifice of His Son? Talk about an excellent novelist! He began the story with the end in mind.  Here in 2 Corinthians, we can see that the “light” was really Light with a capital L. It was Jesus all along!

It is Jesus that is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father unless it is through Him. He is the answer to the moment in the garden that cast darkness on us all. It is not through our own understanding. The light comes from a full surrender of our lives to Christ. Nothing broken. Nothing missing.  We have been recreated in Christ!

Father, thank you for the bright light that You have given us in Jesus! Thank you for every promise and every blessing.  Thank you for the greatest story ever told and the role that You have for each of us to play!
